Parish Church of Saint Sebastian of Garabandal

Dear brothers and sisters: As we approach the celebration of the great annual week of the Church’s liturgy, Holy Week, I would like to share this personal reflection with you. Holy Week is a joyful time to rekindle the joy of Faith (Lk 1:45; Mt 15:28), the firmness of Hope (Jn 14:1-4), and the urgency of Love (Jn 13:34-35). It is a time to reaffirm, in perennial newness, the truth of God and the truth of humanity. The truth of God is Jesus Christ (Jn 16-19), and the truth of humanity is Jesus Christ (Heb 4:15). Each year brings hopeful newness to the liturgical world, to experience the fullness of God’s love in Jesus Christ and the dignity of humanity through Jesus Christ. It is a challenge to give an account of our hope (1 Pet 3:15). This hope has a name: JESUS CHRIST. And it is based on an event that revolutionizes and transforms the history of time: HIS RESURRECTION (1 Tim 1:1). The great news resounds in time and history: IT WAS TRUE, THE LORD HAS RISEN!
May the Virgin Mary, our mother (Jn 19:26-27), woman of the Incarnation (Lk 1:38), woman of silence (Lk 2:51), woman of the Eucharist (Mt 26-27), woman of the cross (Jn 19:25), woman of Hope and of the Church (Acts 13:14), share this our Easter 2025, and one day the Easter without a date.
